National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will progressively roll out in Queensland starting from July 2016.

 Self directed support is a funding approach which can assist service users and their families to have greater control regarding the disability services they receive. Self directed support or ‘Your Life Your Choice’ will help to give you the experience you may need to learn to manage your own funding.

 How does NDIS work?

 Eligible persons will receive funding from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) annually to go towards the cost of support services, therapies or prescribed equipment. You can choose to self manage your funds or ask the NDIA to manage the funds on your behalf.
